Wastewater from Construction Sites and Quarries
Construction sites and quarries generate significant volumes of wastewater, which often contains heavy metals, oil, and suspended particles. Effective management of this wastewater is essential to prevent environmental damage and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Mestraco's Superclean process offers a versatile and effective solution for treating wastewater from these sources, guaranteeing that the discharge is both safe and compliant.

The Challenge of Managing Waste Water in Construction and Quarry Sites
Managing water at construction sites and quarries presents unique challenges due to the nature of the materials and activities involved. These sites often generate large volumes of water contaminated with sediments, oils, and various chemical residues. Traditional methods for treating such water involve the use of large retention tanks or settling ponds, along with extensive filtration systems. These methods are not only space-consuming but also slow and labor-intensive.
Challenges of Water Treatment at Construction Sites and Quarries
High Volumes of Sediments: Water used in construction and quarrying processes typically carries a high load of suspended solids. Settling these sediments traditionally requires large settling tanks or ponds, which consume valuable space and take time to effectively clear the water.
Presence of Contaminants: Oils and chemicals from machinery and construction processes can contaminate water, making it unsafe for discharge without proper treatment. Traditional filtration methods to remove these contaminants can be costly and require frequent maintenance.
Regulatory Compliance: Construction and quarry sites are often subject to strict environmental regulations that mandate the cleanliness of any discharged water. Failure to meet these standards can result in significant fines and environmental damage.

Mestraco Superclean: A Solution for Construction and Quarries Waste Water
The Superclean process, utilizing M-Floc, offers a groundbreaking solution that addresses these challenges head-on:
Elimination of Large Retention Tanks and Filters: By leveraging the natural flocculating power of M-Floc and the innovative technology of the Superclean process, the need for large retention tanks and mechanical filters is completely bypassed. This process rapidly binds the suspended particles to small air bubbles, which float to the surface and form a stable foam that is easily removed.
Rapid Processing and High Efficiency: The Superclean process is designed to handle large volumes of water quickly, significantly speeding up the water treatment cycle. This rapid processing capability ensures that water is treated and ready for safe discharge much faster than traditional methods, enhancing operational efficiency.
Environmental Compliance: With its effective removal of both solids and contaminants, the Superclean process helps sites meet stringent environmental regulations regarding water discharge. The process ensures that water leaving the site is clean and compliant with local water quality standards.
Space and Cost Savings: The compact nature of the Superclean system means it requires significantly less space than traditional systems. Additionally, the reduction in mechanical parts and the non-reliance on chemical additives translate into lower operational and maintenance costs.
The Superclean Advantage in Construction and Quarry Sites
For construction and quarry operators, adopting the Superclean process means not just compliance with environmental regulations but also significant improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The process's ability to rapidly and effectively treat water on-site without the need for cumbersome infrastructure makes it an ideal choice for modern, environmentally conscious operations.

Shows how suspended particles aggregate into flocs and quickly settle to the bottom of the process. The image is taken from above in a water-filled tank where the purified water now lies above the suspended particles that can be removed from the bottom of the tank. The purified water allows for savings through water reuse. By adding extra air to the process, the MX process can also make the flocs float to the top of the purification tank if needed. Depending on the requirements, the flocs can be quickly removed using a belt filter. The entire operation can be carried out in a compact space without the need for sedimentation containers, etc.
